My approach

Owning a small business is more than just a livelihood.

It becomes your community, your identity, an outlet for your creativity, a rewarding source of both purpose and possibility. But along with that comes a tremendous amount of pressure. The problems that need solving. The overwhelming choices. The hard (and usually expensive!) lessons. The uncertainty about what comes next. It's a deeply personal experience, and as you work to keep things looking smooth from the outside, privately you can feel lost, stuck, and surprisingly alone.I get it because I've been there. I've started businesses, managed employees, dealt with finances, worked with vendors, developed products, and made more pivots than I can count. I understand the practical realities of running a small business, and I also know firsthand what the emotional investment feels like.Together, we'll take a closer look at your business, untangle what's not working, and figure out how to move forward with greater clarity and intention. Think of me as your thought partner, strategic planner, creative director, and a bit of business therapist, all rolled into one. Because I believe that the best way to bring order to the chaos is to look at the whole picture – considering the practical, creative, and emotional sides of running a business.

"My business wouldn’t be where it is today without Amber’s guidance. She has a natural way of making overwhelming situations feel manageable, and I’m so grateful to have had her knowledge and support along the way."– Jessica L.

About me

Hi, I'm Amber.

I've spent most of my career bouncing between artistic and practical pursuits. I've worked in interior design, managed multimillion-dollar construction projects, developed and sold my own product brand, and spent five years building and running Eastport General Store, an independent retail shop on the East End of Long Island, NY.It's definitely not a conventional career path. But that's me – eclectic, pragmatic, design-obsessed, and more than a little quirky. Don't ask me how many colleges I went to...I'm equally fascinated by what makes a business beautiful, and what makes it actually work. The visual identity, the customer experience, the products on the shelves – but also the pricing, finances, systems, and decisions happening behind the scenes. To me, they're all interwoven. My experiences as an entrepreneur, designer, and project manager have shaped how I think about business. I don't believe there's one right way to make it happen, or that bigger is necessarily better. I believe in understanding what you're trying to create, asking the questions that matter, and finding practical ways to bring your vision and your reality into better alignment.I'm a lifelong East Ender, originally from Montauk. Outside of work I'm usually collecting, making, rearranging, growing, or singing. I live with my family, dog, two cats, dozen-ish chickens, and an absurd amount of plants.
